Being a football fan is a life time commitment whether your team is at the top or at the bottom you will always stand by them. To support your club is one thing, to be a season ticket holder is another and to be a member of the supporters club marks your status as a Big fan of your club. But Marc Radford has gone one step further and 18 months ago he was elected to be Bristol Rovers Supporters Club Match Day Chairman. He is one of the unsung heroes of the club and does it on a voluntary basis.
For this module Major Project Development my idea has changed a little. Initially i was going to photograph about three sports fanatics but i have found someone who is such a big football fanatic that i have decided to just do the project on the one person. I feel by doing it on just one person it would give the project a bit more intimacy.
I am going to photograph Marc Radford mentioned above in his capacity job and at his home. I will photograph him before, during and after a game on match day and i will also photograph him at his home.
As well as being a football fanatic he has told me that he collect football shirts of each team Bristol Rovers plays and he also collects stats of players ratings he decides a player should have throughout the season and he told me by doing that he could work out who wins awards at the end of the season. He does this for Bristol Rovers and any televised football he watches.
I feel this project will have a lot more to it if i just focus on Marc rather than just photographing people in their houses with their certain pieces of memorabilia.
